I hope everyone had a Happy New Year.
Here is a little article that I found on the Toronto Star Web site. Very interesting for those of you interested in purchasing a Bungalow or Selling..
An aging demographic and relative scarcity of product meant that detached bungalows were the best investment bet for housing in the Toronto market, according to a report released Thursday.
Detached bungalows made a 9.9 per cent gain with an average price of $446,214 in the fourth quarter of 2009, compared to a year earlier according to Re/Max.
A standard two-storey home meanwhile, increased by 3.5 per cent to $564,175 in the Toronto area.
Condominiums were in third place, up 2.9 per cent to $309,316.
Re/Max expects the first half of 2010 to remain hot because of a continuing undersupply in the market. However, demand is expected to moderate in the second half of 2010.
A greater supply of homes, particularly in the condominium sector, is expected in the market. An increase in interest rates in the second half of the year will also dampen some enthusiasm from buyers.
"As Canadians regain confidence in the economy, they should be more willing to enter into a large financial transaction such as the sale of a home,"
The Toronto Real Estate Board reported on Wednesday that 2009 was the second best year on record, beating the previous year by 17 per cent for existing home sales.
All the Best in 2010 to you and your Families....
